Anett Hoppe (Ph.D. Computer Science) is a senior researcher at TIB Hannover and affiliated with Marburg University. Her research focuses on IR and AI-assisted workflows in digital libraries, with particular interest in how metadata, search, and recommendation shape access to knowledge, and whose knowledge gets surfaced. She has organised the IWILDS workshop series (2020–2025) and serves on programme committees for ECIR, SIGIR, and the Web Conference.
Peter Bell

Peter Bell (Ph.D. Art History) received a PhD in art history at Uni Marburg 2011 and worked at the Collaborative Research Center 600 at Uni Trier. He was postdoc in the Computer Vision Group at Uni Heidelberg (Ommer lab) and group leader at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Until 2021 he was assistant professor for Digital Humanities at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and returned to Marburg as full professor for Art History and Digital Humanities. His research focuses are digital art history (computer vision) and social art history.
Malte Hagener

Malte Hagener (Ph.D. Media Studies) is a professor of film and media studies at Marburg University. He is the executive director of the Marburg Center for Digital Culture and Infrastructure, a principal investigator in the consortium NFDI4Culture and in the research training group “Configurations of Film”. He is the speaker of the data competence center HERMES and leads the project “Digital Cinema-Hub”, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, which implements digital methods in film studies. His work is situated on the intersection of film history, archival practices and digital methodology.
Christin Seifert

Christin Seifert (Ph.D. Computer Science) holds the Chair of Artificial Intelligence at Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany. Her research focuses on machine learning, natural language processing, and explainable AI, with a particular emphasis on identifying and mitigating failure modes in AI systems. She has led and contributed to multiple projects on trustworthy AI and is interested in the responsible use of AI for knowledge discovery and digital libraries.
Ralph Ewerth

Ralph Ewerth (Ph.D. Computer Science) is a full professor for AI – Multimodal Modelling and Machine Learning at Marburg University and hessian.AI, and research group leader at TIB Hannover. His research interests include vision-language models, multimodal disinformation analysis, AI-assisted analysis of videos, and explainable search in art-historical image collections. He is one of the initiators of TIB AV-Analytics, a platform for scholarly video analysis, and iArt, an explainable search engine for art-historical images. In the context of these projects, he is actively engaged with the Digital Humanities community.
